Increased project funding from Government of up to 70% for SMEs offers an added boost.
The National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP) is an Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) programme with £20m initial funding in place and the ambition to progress over 80 innovative aerospace technologies.
In May 2022 the ATI announced further funding of £5m for two additional calls for project applications to extend support to a further 24 projects.
Launched in 2013, this unique mentoring and supportive approach helps SMEs, with little or no experience of Government grants, navigate the funding application and project fulfillment processes.

HOW TO APPLY TO NATEP
The outline Application Form is the first step in the NATEP application process. However, we do recommend that you speak to a NATEP Technology Manager to discuss your idea before completing the form as we can help guide you on the process.

The NATEP application process begins with an outline proposal followed by a full proposal. Each is reviewed by an industry panel including representatives from primes such as Airbus, Rolls-Royce and Boeing.
The feedback from these industry panel meetings is invaluable in offering SMEs insight into how the customer might perceive the idea and will ultimately help to successfully launch your innovation.
