Last month, Harriet Wollerton, Programme Director for NATEP spoke to Alan Peaford Editor-in-Chief of Farnborough International News Network (FINN) for their From the Top series. They discussed the latest funding calls, working with Primes and recent success stories.
Further £5 million funding through the ATI
The National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme has received an additional £5m of grant funding through the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI).
Having supported 150 projects since 2012 across six calls, this additional funding will help a further 24 projects across two calls: 2022 Autumn Call and 2023 Spring call.
SMEs inexperienced in grant funding and bidding into Innovate UK and others can benefit from NATEP’s unique mentoring and funding support to increase their success. NATEP Technology Managers provide a unique mentoring service.
“we help support the initial concept, we can help build a consortium, we can help to write the bid, we can help you to submit into Innovate UK and once awarded funding we can help with your delivery of your project” says Harriet Wollerton
NATEP supports the whole supply chain
Larger companies and Primes such as Airbus, Boeing, GKN and Leonardo are actively engaged in the programme. They form our industry panels which help review the proposals when they come in, but also provide crucial feedback to companies on what they are looking for and can often help by becoming an end user themselves or introduce them to a company who can use it.
“What the big companies like about small companies is their ability to be agile, to move quickly and to develop technologies quickly,” says Harriet Wollerton.
NATEP supports the UK aerospace supply chain to develop and exploit the new technologies, ideas that are just out of the lab to just before productionisation.
2022 Autumn Call open now – deadline 5 September!
If you have a R&D idea and would like to discuss how NATEP can support you, please get in touch with Harriet Wollerton or Nancy Jardine.
